Happy Mother's Day!

I know that I have been slacking just a bit with posting, but we are still busy preparing for baby to come in a few weeks. We have painted two rooms, built a loft bed for one of our daughter's, and went through all of the children's clothes. Now this weekend we are still checking off Mom's nesting list by cleaning out toys and bedrooms.

I am working on my next series of posts on how I made my transition from the working world to stay at home mom. I have had many women ask me to write something about this. It can seem an like impossible thing to do, but it isn't! I am hoping that it will encourage and inspire all of you who have that huge desire to come home. I am hoping to get them up this week, so stay tuned!

I did want to write to tell all you Moms out there, "Happy Mother's Day!" I want to encourage you, as mothers, to enjoy your children. I know it's easy to get overwhelmed and exhausted. Remember though, that God has blessed you with those precious children. "Lo, children are a heritage of The Lord; and the fruit of the womb is His reward." Psalms 127:3

I want to share this video I found. Now, I am not a fan of country music, but I thought that this video serves as a nice reminder to cherish the children we have since there are many who would love the chance to be where we're at. Have a great weekend and make sure you give lots of hugs and kisses to them babies!

Okay, THAT made my cry!! "I would die to hear those words, "I love you...Mom!" How fortunate I am to have six and hear those words each and every day....thank you so much for sharing that song!!

I wish you a very Happy Mother's Day too Teresa! I hope it is a wonderful day for you.

I am really looking forward to your next series. Your perspective and your words are always so inspirational and encouraging. I pray that many will be blessed by what you have to say on this issue!

It sounds like you have been busy busy with all your nesting projects. I have always loved the feeling of doing everything I can to make my home a little haven for a new baby. Have fun, but don't work too hard. :)

Happy Mother's Day, Teresa! Keep that nesting up. That little one will be here before you know it.

sherah, it is nice to hear those words, isn't it? :-)

kate, thankyou so much! You know I am really enjoying your series too. It is fantastic! I just haven't been my usual commenting self lately.
Oh, and I love when I get that last big drive to do everything. After i'm done I hope to be able to just sit and relax and maybe get some good reading in before.

Daphne, I always deliver a few weeks early so it'll really be here before I know it. Good thing too. It's starting to get HOT outside!!

I just cried like a baby watching that. I have a few friends who abortion has killed their spirit and they just want to go back and give their baby up for adoption.

It is so easy for us as mothers to get into the pace of life and forget what a blessing we have and how much others would give for what we have. We also become frustrated with our little ones problems and forget that despite problems they are a blessing and a gift from God.

Thank you so much for posting this. It's nice (but sad) to know I'm not alone in this. Although we have adopted one daughter- an incredible blessing!- infertility will always be part of our story.

Enjoy your nesting! :) I had a crazy time of nesting for about a week or two before our daughter was born (and I didn't even know about her yet!). Isn't it amazing how God places mothering on our hearts- it's not merely biology. I was obsessed with doing every little bit of laundry, scrubbing everything in sight, folding & refolding baby clothes, and crocheting a blanket late into the night! (Now I wish I had slept, though!)

Happy Mother's Day to you.
Blessings,
Michele :)

I'm adopted so I'm all for taking in babies that have no vital homelife. I have a friend who was infertile and while I symphatized with her my issue always went back to Adopt! I was told at one time that they could never adopt because they just wouldn't feel like that baby was ever truly their own. That hurt my heart so much and sticks with me till this day. I think people need to look at all angles of a situation before giving up hope! BTW: My mom always told me althought I didn't grow under her heart I've always grown in it!

Pascalrenee,

My father-in-law was adopted. I thank God all the time that Granny adopted him, because I wouldn't have met and married my husband.

Adoption can be a wonderful blessing to a family. Maybe your friend will be able to see that one day. She probably needed to grieve for the babies she will never bear. I've seen people who worked through that and then were able to see the joy in adopting.

I'm looking forward to your new series. I'm sure they will be very helpful. I still work fulltime, and probably will for about a year yet, then I will be coming home. We want to pay off the student loans first. ;-(
