Will paint for food and other happenings

Ok seriously, i'm trying to be funny with the title of this post. But truthfully, as of last week God blessed us with the oportunity for Scott to paint full time now. So you see, he will paint for food. Well technically he will paint for money, but money buys food, right? Hence the title of the post.

This is something he has wanted to do for a few years now, but it has been too hard to take that leap of faith when you have a great job with a good paycheck. Especially when you have a family. Sometimes though, God likes to shake things up a bit. I like to think of us as baby birds who need to be pushed out of the nest in order to take flight. God chose to give us that push in the form of being part of a 10% company wide cut.

Neither one of us are upset about it, maybe just a little nervous on and off. Having 7 children to care for does that to you every now and then, even before you lose the security of a steady paycheck. We are actually thrilled to see what God does now.

The other happenings is some more good news. I'm actually feeling much better now. It took awhile to recover from the surgery and infection but that's ok. Sometimes we need to learn to lean on and trust in God more. Most of the time I feel so strong and capable, but I was quickly reminded of just how weak I could be. This is one passage of scripture that I have turned to recently.
2 Corinthians 12:9-10 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

May you all have a blessed Christmas.

it looks like he has a lot of leads already. My cousin was asking me about his work yesterday and said she was going to call him after Christmas.

He does have work lining up. God is blessing already.
About your cousin, I do think I remember her saying that she wanted her house painted. That's great. :-)

Thanks, Christi. I will admit that it is not always as awesome as it should be, but we try to always look at bends in the road as a new adventure.

That's great that he's already getting leads. I hope things really take off with his business. My husband's getting ready to transition out of his career and we have seven kids as well. It's inspiring hearing about how God is blessing you and helps me have faith that he'll do the same for us.

Teresa, you inspire all those around you. I hope your dh loves his new work more than the old and that this brings many more blessings to your home. I hope you are doing better. Keep enjoying those teenagers... mine are also a joy and a blessing to me, except when they bring too much drama around!
